3 Days in Marrakech: Complete Day-by-Day Itinerary

3 days in Marrakech is the sweet spot. Enough to see the essentials without feeling overwhelmed. Here is the itinerary we recommend to all our guests.

Day 1, UNESCO Medina

Morning (9 am-12 pm): Jemaa el-Fna Square. Grab a fresh orange juice (4 MAD) at the fountain, watch the snake charmers, henna artists and vendors. Buy a local SIM card (Maroc Telecom, 30 MAD for 5 GB).

Lunch (12-2 pm): Eat at Nomad (1 Rue des Épices, 200 MAD/person). Revisited Moroccan cuisine, souk views, booking recommended.

Afternoon (2-6 pm): Get lost in the souks. Spice souk, dyers' souk, babouche souk. Tip: enter through Bab Boujloud (blue gate), exit via Place des Ferblantiers. Allow 3-4 hours.

Evening (6-9 pm): Aperitif at Café de France (Jemaa square), overlooking the lively square. Then dinner at La Maison Arabe (gourmet, 600 MAD/person, book 3 weeks ahead).

Day 2, Culture & History

Morning: Bahia Palace (opens 9 am, 70 MAD), Saadian Tombs (10 am, 70 MAD), Ben Youssef Medersa (11 am, 50 MAD). Allow 3 hours total.

Afternoon: Majorelle Garden + Berber Museum (2 pm, 100 MAD). Then concept-store shopping in the neighbourhood: Max & Jan, 33 Rue Majorelle, Lalla.

Evening: Dinner at Comptoir Darna (Palmeraie, oriental dancer, 500 MAD/person). Show + gastronomy.

Day 3, Agafay Desert Excursion

On day 3, head to the Agafay desert (45 min drive). Depart 2 pm, return 10 pm. Programme:

• 2-3:30 pm: 4x4 drive with driver, Atlas photo stop

• 4 pm: Sunset camel ride (1 hour)

• 5:30 pm: Berber dinner under the stars (tagine, couscous, mint tea)

• 7-9 pm: Live gnawa music, stargazing with telescope

• 10 pm: Return to your riad
