About this property

Maison Habibi is rented whole, never by the room: four double bedrooms, nine beds, in the Dar el Bacha quarter, the part of the medina where the antique dealers, the museums and the designer shops have settled. You reach it down a quiet residential lane, lit at night. The spice square is a 6-minute walk away, Jemaa el-Fna 12. The house was restored through to 2023 by its owners, a French couple who split their life between Aix-en-Provence and Marrakech, working with Marrakech craftsmen: tadelakt, lime plaster, natural pigments, bejmat, zellige, woven textiles. The palette stays neutral from floor to ceiling and the objects were found piece by piece in the medina. The result is a restrained house, a long way from the gold-heavy riad. The four bedrooms are named after spices and no two are alike. Safran, on the first floor, keeps its handmade tataoui ceiling and its oriental arch. Cannelle goes for grey tadelakt and contemporary colours. Cumin brings in doum-palm light fittings and natural lime walls. Paprika is a junior suite on the ground floor, with a terracotta platform and room for a third bed. Each one is air conditioned with its own bathroom and private WC. The planted courtyard holds the cool all day. On the first floor, the bhou, the open Moroccan lounge that looks onto the courtyard, works as a reading corner. There is also a sitting room with a fireplace for winter evenings and a large dining room. On the roof: a heated plunge pool with no overlooking neighbours, sunbeds, a summer kitchen and the view over the medina rooftops at sunset. That is where most meals happen in the warm months. Breakfasts and meals are booked the day before with Khaoula, who cooks on site. The owners also arrange airport transfers, day trips (Agafay, the Ourika valley, the Ouzoud falls, a guided medina walk, quad biking) and a rooftop yoga session with a teacher. The mats are already there. Before you book: two nights minimum, check-in from 4pm, check-out by 11am. The washing machine is available at extra cost. Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival, 50 % refunded between 30 and 7 days, nothing after that. The riad has no hammam and no spa on site.
