Riad Berbère is a four bedroom guesthouse in Lalla Takerkoust, near the lake of the same name, 35 minutes by car from Marrakech and on the edge of the Agafay desert. Serge and Fatiha run it and host their guests themselves. From the house the view takes in the lake, the Atlas mountains and the desert. Everything is laid out around an ochre courtyard: a green zellige fountain between two potted palms, a long mosaic table for eating outdoors, a white staircase up to the terrace. A Moroccan lounge with wooden chairs and brightly woven cushions opens onto the courtyard. In the garden there is a small pool and a place to rest. Three bedrooms have a double bed and their own bathroom, each in its own colour, coral, saffron yellow or turquoise, with a carved wooden headboard, bedside lamps and Berber rugs. The fourth has three single beds and a separate full bathroom. The house sleeps nine in all. Rain showers, towels and linen provided. This is a guesthouse, not a self catering rental: there is no kitchen for guests, the hosts do the cooking. Breakfast is included, tagines are cooked over charcoal in a clay oven, and the hosts also give cooking classes. Charcoal barbecue and outdoor dining in the courtyard. Wifi, free parking on site, washing machine, cleaning during your stay, pets welcome. There is no air conditioning: fans in summer, heating in winter. Around the house, between the lake and the Agafay: quad biking, jet skiing, paragliding, horse and camel rides, hot air balloon flights. Rate on request, direct over WhatsApp.
